The red hue that was used on this metal art was later named as Calder red. The parts were first built in France but it was assembled on the plaza. La Gran Vitesse means “the great swiftness” in English.

3. Wind comb by Eduardo Chillida and Metal Art

At the foot of  Mount Igledo near the bay of San Sebastian lies Chillida’s fine steel magnum opus. Since its inception in 1977, it has been one of the most iconic pieces in the city. The structure is composed of three pieces of solid metallic bars fastened above the rocks. It is overlooking the surrounding sea, showing a fine harmony between art and natural landscape.

4. Cloud Gate by Anish Kapoor

Constructed between 2004 and 2006, this mammoth piece of art was usually called the bean by most visitors because of its distinct shape. 168 stainless steel plates were used to weld this work of art. Its dimensions are 33 x 66 x 42 feet. It also weighs 110 tons.
